CBS cancels 'JAG', with Catherine Bell CBS cancels 'JAG' - PittsburghLIVE.com: "'We've had an amazing run, particularly for a series that was once canceled,' show creator Donald P. Bellisario said. 'Over the last 10 years we have had an opportunity to shine a spotlight on our armed forces and call attention to issues of significant importance to our country as well as the men and women who serve it.' In one episode, a member of the JAG team was severely wounded by an Afghan mine while on assignment abroad. Last February, series star David James Elliott, who plays Cmdr. Harmon 'Harm' Rabb Jr., announced plans to leave when the 10th season ended. He has a series development deal with ABC and Touchstone Television. The series co-stars Catherine Bell, Patrick Labyorteaux, Scott Lawrence and Zoe McLellan." Monday, March 21, 2005
Bell of the Ball Golfforwomen.com - Bell of the Ball: "Is it true your co-stars on JAG taught you to play golf? Yes. David James Elliott [who plays Commander Harmon 'Harm' Rabb] is a golf junkie. During my second season on the show in 1998, there was a JAG golf tournament. I had never played before, but the guys were like, 'C'mon, you've gotta do it.' I basically signed up, showed up half an hour before the tournament, got a few tips and played. I even hit a few good shots, so I caught the bug. Then, David set up a driving range on one of the stages a few years ago so everyone could hit balls between scenes. All the guys on the set would be practicing rolling their wrists through their swings." Wednesday, February 09, 2005
'JAG', starring Catherine Bell, War Stories Can Hit Close to Home 'JAG' War Stories Can Hit Close to Home (washingtonpost.com): "Created by Don Bellisario, the series follows the personal and professional trials of the Judge Advocate General Corps, the lawyers who investigate, prosecute and defend cases involving Navy and Marine personnel. The stars of the legal team are Lt. Col. Sarah 'Mac' MacKenzie, played by Catherine Bell, and Cmdr. Harmon 'Harm' Rabb, played by David James Elliott, who's leaving the series at the end of this season. Chris Beetem, recently of daytime's 'As The World Turns,' has just been signed up as Lt. Gregory Vukovic, a charming but ethically defiant new member of the 'JAG' team, who happens to be assigned to the minaret shooting. Bell, whose toddler daughter is with her as she waits in her trailer for her next scene, mentions working at Pendleton on the day last month when 30 Marines and a Navy sailor were killed in a helicopter crash in Iraq." Universal Children's Day Recognized with Human Rights Video, with Catherine Bell WebWire | Universal Children's Day Recognized with Human Rights Video: "Entitled UNITED, the video portrays children banding together to defeat bullies in school and playground settings and even extending friendship to a gang leader. 'It is a very real portrayal of things our youth are faced with today and how to apply Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights,' said Rev. Susan Taylor, spokesperson for the Church. 'That article that tells us that all people are born free and equal and we should act towards others in a spirit of brotherhood.' The video features cameo appearances from soul legend Isaac Hayes, movie actress Erica Christensen and TV actresses Catherine Bell, Jenna Elfman and Lynsey Bartilson. Filmed this year in 14 countries, the video also features a multi-ethnic cast of more than 150 actors, primarily youths. " Monday, November 01, 2004
War in Iraq remains hot on 'JAG', starring Catherine Bell Journal Gazette | 10/22/2004 | War in Iraq remains hot on 'JAG': "While the series explores problems encountered during the war, it remains positive in its portrayal of the military, co-executive producer Stephen Zito said. "Our heroes are good and decent people that we present in a positive light," Zito said. "I think the main thing is that (creator and executive producer) Donald Bellisario makes the show patriotic. The show is a very positive look at the military." Star Catherine Bell said military officers, including JAG lawyers, have praised the series for its depiction of the armed services. At the same time, the series, which airs at 9 p.m. Fort Wayne time Fridays on CBS (except for tonight, when a Ray Charles special will air), doesn't shy away from the crises of war." JAG Bell's Baby Plans Insider - [TV Guide Online]: "When actress Catherine Bell gave birth to daughter Gemma last year, JAG never acknowledged her pregnancy onscreen. Now that the CBS military drama has entered its 10th - and possibly final - season, Mac may end up in the family way, too! As last season wrapped, Harm (David James Elliott) reminded Mac of the pact they made years ago to have a baby together if neither was married or spoken for by now. Unfortunately, he didn't know she was facing medical issues of a, well, feminine nature. 'It's a slim chance that Mac could have a child,' the 36-year-old Bell tells TV Guide Online, 'but I like to believe in miracles. It doesn't look hopeful, but you never know. On TV, even when you're told you can't have a child, you have one anyway.'" Friday, September 24, 2004
'JAG' stars ready for another TV tour of duty USATODAY.com - 'JAG' stars ready for another TV tour of duty: "Friday kicks off the 10th season of CBS' military drama, JAG, fueled for years by the unrequited romantic tension between its main characters, military lawyers Commander Harmon 'Harm' Rabb Jr. and Colonel Sarah 'Mac' MacKenzie, played by David James Elliott and Catherine Bell. When viewers last saw the duo, their futures were uncertain. Their boss, Admiral Chegwidden, was retiring. Harm had taken on the added responsibility of becoming guardian to the adolescent daughter of a family friend. Mac too was having a rotten spell of luck. Her boyfriend (the shadowy CIA operative Clayton Webb played by Steven Culp) had been killed at sea and she had just gotten life-changing news from her doctor, which Harm and fans will find out about Friday night.
